Electric double layer capacitors (EDLC), also known as supercapacitors, are energy storage components that provide high capacitance, fast charge and discharge capability, and long cycle life. They are commonly used for backup power, peak current support, energy buffering, regenerative energy storage, memory backup, industrial controls, smart meters, automotive electronics, and renewable energy systems.
